Carlsbad

Carlsbad is located in the western part of the Czech Republic at the confluence of rivers Teplá and Ohře, about 120 km from Prague. They are the largest and most famous spa town in Central Europe, with the highest concentration of healing springs in the world. The city was founded in the 14th century by Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor. According to legend, the emperor had ordered to build the Karlovy Vary soon after the accidental discovery of thermal healing springs by his hunting company. The spa enjoyed the favor of many aristocratic houses and rich burghers as early as in the 16th century.

Unique Karlovy Vary has something to offer everyone. Culture lovers will appreciate the many theaters, cinemas, galleries and museums. There is a library and an observatory. If you're sensitive to sights, admire the historic spa buildings and some of the churches, Church of St. Mary Magdalene, St. Peter and Paul, St. Luke, St. Anne and St. Andrew. Lovers of active holidays will also appreciate sports facilities, playgrounds and swimming pools. Surrounding wrinkled landscape formed by the Ore Mountains, Doupov Mountains and Slavkov Forest, will inspire everyone. Murmuring forests, meadows and turquoise lakes. Ice rink Carlsbad - Multi-functional sports complex KV Arena

KV Arena is a sports, cultural and congress center in Carlsbad belonging among the most modern complex in Central Europe. Since 2010, the arena has been the new headquarters of the ice hockey club HC Karlovy Vary. Its capacity for ice hockey matches is almost 6000 seats, the maximum capacity of the hall by covering the ice surface e.g. for concerts is up to 7,500 spectators. The complex includes other sports such as training ice rink, swimming pool and sports ball hall.
